If travelers make their own journey into the city, a taxi will take you from Phnom Penh International Airport to downtown only 20 minutes, 7km, costing US$ 7, and from Siem Reap International Airport to downtown only 10 minutes, 5km, and costing US$ 5.

Rice and fish, together with array of herbs, sauces and spices are the Khmer typical cuisine. Curries and soup with beef, pork, poultry and seafood can be bought from vendors along the street. There is no problem in Phnom Penh. All of the world is main cuisine is found here in more than 100 restaurants such as European, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Thai.

    All types of Khmer traditional musical instruments, which are performed, play an important part in lives of the Cambodian people, and accompany all of dances, rituals and ceremonies.

    Accommodation ranges from guesthouses to hotels. Accommodation prices are moderate, but those seeking five-star deluxe hotels in Phnom Penh Capital and Siem Reap Province.

    The Ministry of Tourism-licensed tourist guides can help visitors in visiting around the city. These experienced multilingual guides accompany the organized bus tour. The car can be hired on an individual basis with a private driver by the guide or by visitors. Visitors are welcomed by more than 100 travel agencies, which offer guides speaking English, French, Japanese, German, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and Thai.

    Avoid pointing your foot at a person or touching someone on his or her head. Women should wear long clothing that covers the body. For business meetings, men should wear a lightweight suit and tie. The minimum drinking age is 18 years. It is very polite to ask permission before photographing Cambodian people, especially monks. Gratuities are very popular at hotels, restaurants and for other services.
